Hot Shot!

ASP Logistics is both a Quarantine Approved Premise (QAP) 4.1 Heat Treatment Facility S-1397 and an Export Registered ISPM 15 Treatment Facility AU-212 HT.

This means we can heat treat your imported goods as directed by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS), meaning you will not have the costly task of re-exporting your goods or destroying them completely. After all, you have just spent your time and money on importation, it would be a disaster (and a costly one) to have to start again.

Our Quarantine Approved Premise has been used for treating import commodities such as:

  • Timber / bark dunnage pallets and crates
  • Food products i.e. cinnamon, organic beans, seeds e.t.c.
  • Cane baskets
  • Tea bag and Tea Leaves in bulk quantity.

All of our timber used or supplied can be heat treated in accordance with ISPM 15  and IPPC regulations. The IPPC is a multilateral treaty for cooperation in plant health and protection under the auspices of the FAO. The IPPC addresses plant health protection by the establishment and use of international standards to meet phytosanitary needs.
The Convention recognises countries right to use phytosanitary measures to regulate imports of plants, plant products and objects that may harbour plant pests. Parties to the IPPC have obligations to comply with the Convention’s principles of necessity, technical justification and transparency in regulating imports.
Over 160 countries are parties to the Convention. ASP Logistics is pleased to be a part of this world group helping to protect our shores.

Benefits of Heat Treatment over current fumigation methods:

    • Export treatment cycle is only 2-3 hours and goods are available same day
    • Heat Treatment provides longer life span for timber and is much cleaner for the environment and end users than chemical fumigation.
    • Reduction in weight of timber (saving $$$ on freight costs
